Learning About Farm Equipment

Hello, my name is Arthur Sigmund. Welcome to my site about farm equipment. Growing up, all of the kids on the farm had to learn how to operate the tractors at an early age. We drove the tractors around to haul tools and equipment used to maintain the field. We also learned how to properly maintain and repair the tractors. As we grew older, our responsibilities extend to other equipment used on the property. I will use this site to explore farm equipment use, maintenance and repair techniques. I hope you will learn a lot from my site. Thank you for visiting.

You might have decided that you are finally ready to purchase your first horse, and you probably want to be as well-prepared for horse ownership as possible. This means that you should find out about the different types of equestrian and livestock services that you're going to need as a horse owner. These are a few examples of some of the different professionals who you might need to work with in order to properly care for your first horse.

Veterinarian

First of all, you will need to be sure that your horse gets proper veterinary care throughout its life. Therefore, you'll need to find a veterinarian who can help with Coggin's testing, check-ups, vaccinations, and more. You probably won't be able to count on the same vet that you use for your dog or cat's care, either; instead, you will need to find a large animal veterinarian who has experience with working with horses.

Farrier

It's also important to work with a good farrier. At a minimum, you can hire a farrier to trim your horse's hooves on a regular basis. In many cases, it's suggested for a horse to have horseshoes; your farrier can help you determine if your horse needs shoes and can put them on if required.

Horse Trainer

Unless your horse is already trained, you might need the help of a horse trainer. A horse trainer can help with any behavioral issues that your horse might have and can help with training your horse for different disciplines of riding. If you're interested in competing in horse shows, a horse trainer can help you and your horse get ready to do so.

Hay Provider

You have to make sure that your horse has ample forage for good health and proper nutrition. Unless you have your own source for purchasing or growing hay, then you will need to find a hay supplier. Many hay suppliers will sell you hay by the bale and will even bring it to your home or farm.

Feed Supplier

In addition to making sure that your horse has ample hay, you will also need to make sure it has grain. A good feed supplier will sell a variety of different types of horse feed since every horse has different nutritional needs based on age, breed, activity level, and more. Your feed supplier or your veterinarian should be able to provide great advice about the type of feed that you should purchase for your horse.
